Tob’anik – Helping children in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala

Tob’anik USA was established in 2011 by a former student of Spanish School SISAI, with the mission of giving financial support to the educational outreach program run by the school. Tob’anik USA is a branch of Tob’anik e.V., incorporated as a not for profit organization in Germany in 2002.

The Spanish School SISAI (http://sisaispanishschool.org), founded in 1989 in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, is organized as a non-profit collective, and is involved in several philanthropic endeavors.  Its program to help local children has been in existence for over 20 years, and has been largely funded by Tob’anik e.V. for the past ten years.

The school’s outreach program currently sponsors about 40 children to attend public school in and around the city of Quetzaltenango. Tob’anik USA seeks to expand the impact of the project by aiding as many families as possible to provide their children with an education and to meet basic nutritional needs.

Tob’anik USA accepts funding through Star of Hope International (http://www.starofhopeusa.org/), a registered 501(c)(3), tax deductible organization,

incorporated in the state of Florida in 1987. Star of Hope International supports humanitarian programs in 15 different countries, focusing on the care and education of children around the world.
